2012 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction Winner

The 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction will not be awarded.  The official story from the Pulitzer organization is traditionally the judging committee picks the finalists and the board decides the winner.  According to prize administrator Sig Gissler, the board “failed to reach a majority” and thus did not award a fiction prize.

This is the first time in 35 years that a prize for fiction has not been awarded.  More interesting is it’s the first time we know which three books were presented to the Pulitzer Board and ultimately rejected.

Predictions for the 2012 Hugo Nominations

Hugo Award LogoBuoyed by my “success” with the Philip K. Dick Award prediction from last night, I’m going to reveal my predictions for the 2012 finalists.  While predicting the Philip K. Philip K Dick Award Winner Announced

This year’s  Philip K Dick Award winner was announced last night at Norwescon 35 in Seattle.  The winner was Simon Morden for his Samuil Petrovitch  Trilogy (Equations of Life, Theories of Flight and Degrees of Freedom).  You can read Mr. Morden’s acceptance “post” here.  (I guess the Ace/Ten held).
